Thanks for getting on board people. Nice one Mike :D
Anyone else risked potential freezing/washing/drying of their gear to get a photo from inside an appliance?! Let's see :D

Great fridge shot. :)
I recently saw a FABULOUS shot of two dogs licking the plates in a dishwasher. It looked a lot like your dishwasher Mike. ;)

Im thinking that someone with a waterproof housing might come along and steal the limelight by having a shot from inside the kitchen sink ...... who's that brave though? ;)

Yep, that was mine, Athena. :D This picture was one of the test shots for the other. I still plan on re-doing the "Pre-Wash" shot though. I had my lights set wrong for when I had 4 dogs there, which would have turned out better. I actually had the same idea for a fridge shot as well, with the dogs looking in and one of them pulling out a roast or something. Lots of ideas, I'm just lousy at execution. :D
Thanks

What kind of lighting did you use?
They were dishwasher safe. :D
Seriously, I used a single Excalibur SP3200 (320 watt second) with a 26" octogon softbox on it. It was placed to the left and aimed down. The reason I used this was because it was on the light, which was already set up in my living room/studio and the other Excalibur SP6400 has a 24x36" softbox on it and that would have been too big for the room. I probably should have used a umbrella, which would have spread the light out better than the octogon softbox did, but I did want it dark in the area behind me. I also should have lowered the light down about a foot or brought another light in. This was really a test shot to make sure my camera was positioned right. The specs on this: 1DMKII with 17-40 4.0L lens with Pocket Wizard set to fire the camera and also fire the strobe. I made a 1x2" frame that just fit across the dishwasher with two legs (made it look like a large [ bracket) facing forward because the weight of the camera kept wanting to roll it forward. I drilled a hole in the center of the cross piece and screwed my ball head on it so I could attach my camera. With the ball head, camera and Pocket Wizard in the hot shoe, the camera almost didn't fit in the back of the dishwasher.
For those that haven't seen it, this is the picture that I was testing for when I created this one:
This is titled: Pre-Wash

The shots I did with a couple of other dogs there I blocked the light so they were too dark. With black dogs, too dark makes it hard to see them. :D I was kind of rushed doing this because the wife was taking a nap and I wanted to get it down and all evidence put away before she came down and caught me "doing something crazy again". :D

Yes! :D That is the fabulous dog licking plates photo I was referring to earlier. I love it the dark one on the right - is he also in your avatar? He (she?) looks like a real character.

Thanks Athena. The Bouvier in the picture is a 7 month puppy named Dyna (short for Dynamo). The Bouvier in my avatar is Caprice, one of our 9 year olds (we have 3 sisters from our first litter, a 6 year old sister from the second litter and a 2 year old male Bouvier). Caprice has probably been my second most used dog model (her dad was used the most and even appeard in Town and Country Magazine) although I've not done a lot of work with her in awhile. I've got to get busy and try to re-do this shot. Posting these images and talking about it has me motivated. I'm sure I can talk the others into helping out again. :D I also have a couple of more ideas for shooting in the kitchen. ;)
