In response to a Nikon owner's claims of superior macro performance for the 995 over the G1/G2 -- even equipped with Hoya Close-up Filters -- I threw a $100 bill (Hong Kong, about US$12.80) down on the desk last night and shot it against a Schaedler Precision Rule (another product I highly recommend).
It was photographed with a G2 and three Hoya Close-up Filters (+4, +2, +1), then auto-leveled and sharpened. I'm posting it here for those of you who might want to know what to expect from this combination and I have no idea how this compares to the native abilities of any other camera.

My Hoya +10 Macro Lens is on its way and I'll try to do a similar experiment when it arrives.
Cheers,
Don
