... I've been asked for a copy of this image to go on a recipe card, as is, should I do anything else with it? I'm thinking of getting rid of the dark parts like the bottom left and right parts? Thanks.

I would leave as is. Probably the person who will do the artwork will edit it to fit the style used. As is, it looks a bit oversaturated, even if it is king crab which has a bright orange color to it.

Thanks Mike, they wanted it that colour to match the scheme for the small blocks of colour being used on that specific card, so I just obliged.
