I've always had the setting on my camera on 10. Since I've never really set it at any other level, is there a noticeable difference when shooting motorsports? I am hoping to try out an 8 this weekend. If there is a noticeable difference, I'd rather find out now than during a paid event where there is no turning back.

I would only reduce the quality level if you are running out of space consistantly.

i shot at medium/fine jpg for the last couple events in 2006 and had no problem printing good quality large prints. i'm sure they would print better in RAW, but i can fit 400+ photos on a 1gb card. it takes to long to download and adjust RAW or large/fine image files. :)

is there a noticeable difference when shooting motorsports? Most sports pros shoot jpg because they have tight deadlines. But there is a "noticeable difference" between jpg & RAW.
While this thread started out with the AWB subject, there's a great illustration on page 2 (Post #58.) that illustrate easily seen information loss in a web jpeg shot in the camera & one derived from a RAW file. I was surprised!
