Can anyone suggest a book that you would consider a beginner book for photography? I have a Digital Rebel XT. I'm looking for books that might encompass lighting, all the features of the camera, anything that might help. I've been kind of winging it with my camera and you sure can tell. I really want to take this on as a hobby, especially since I have a newborn son so I have plenty of subject material. I'm a big black and white fan too so if there is a specific book that you might suggest for that, it would be greatly appreciated.

I went out and bought the Field Guide for the XT so I think I have a good foundation to start with. Thanks again everyone for the suggestions!
