I like the idea and the DOF. I would however put the cards on a darker background, I think it would give it a little more contrast...in my opionion.:)

Yes, cards on a black background look very regal (at least I think they do). I would place them on a black material (I used the inside of my coat once) and retry the shot.

Also, as much as people hate it, maybe try a selective color? Or have the Ace as the only colored card?

I like the black background suggestion. I am curious how it would look on a green felt background like most of the tables are made from. Black might be better though. Also, maybe you could remove the kings, queens and jacks and only use cards that are pure black.

Nice Shot....just a suggestion lower the shot angle and increase the DOF.

I agree with more DOF. And I noticed red on other cards on your table, namely the king at the bottom right corner. You might try eliminating all other red on cards except your subject card.
