Hi,
We did a Ring light yesterday with a electrician friend.
I toke some pictures, I will do a tutorial DIY someday

About 100$ can, including 6 daylights neon bulb. Toke him 3hours or so...

Hey I'm making one of these myself. The wood and wiring is done, and the unit works beautifully, but I'm trying to eliminate the catch light chaos. I'm using 8 bulbs, so the irises just go away... I"m thinking of affixing some pvc and nylon to the front to diffuse it, so that maybe it'd be more of a continuous ring, rather than dots. Does anyone know the temp. that these bulbs give out and how far to place the fabric from the bulbs so that I don't end up with a fire hazard?

seems simple enough.

Can I asked why you decided to use floro bulbs over standard daylight bulbs?

Everytime I used compart floros I kept seeing dead bands in the color spectrum with them. I know its pretty easy since you just swap out the bulbs, but you might want to try that out.

Ive seen some setups with daylight bulbs or the high wattage bulbs with a dimmer switch... I dont think you can stick a dimmer of floro bulbs right?

Yeah, looks like a two six-pak job. I drink Moosehead instead of whatever it is you show in the picture. Can't get a decent American beer since old man Schlitz's kid took over the company many years ago and ruined the recipe. Is there a beer fourm around here somewhere?
