hey i'm using flashes and Aperture settings. Does anyone know a site or formula to work out the best Aperture setting for distance? a table would be cool.
I have a table but it only goes to 1.2meters as the smallest distance.
also my table has the value ASA and DIN what is this?

Aperture has a direct relation with DOF
using hyperfocal is the only thing I can think of a relation between aperture/DOF and the distance, but no other
ASA is the American equivalent for ISO (in photography)
100ASA=100ISO, etc
There's a conversion formula for DIN to ISO, something like DIN21=100ISO, DIN24=200ISO, etc (not 100%sure about the values)
DIN = Deutsche Industrie Norm (German thing...)
ISO = International Standards Organization

Sorry... missed the flash in your post...
the flash has guide-number which is some formula between aperture, iso, (time) and distance.
The larger the aperture, the farther the distance the flash reaches
But the link above from nosquare should answer a lot of questions...
