I was about to throw away the shipping box that my new 70-200 2.8 just came in, and found this in the bottom of the box under the peanuts. What is it? :oops: How do you use it? :oops:

It's a lens diaper, of course! It catches oil droppings from the USM motor, so as not to stain one's floor.

This is so you can sleep with your 70-200. Lay it down right next to you on the bed and the lens has its own blanket...;)

The blue side is like a ballistic nylon with the 'hard' velcro tabs on the 4 corners. The other side is soft red fleece type material.

(It looks like this seatbelt things I used to have, so you wouldn't hurt your neck.

You use it to handle the lens due to the heat it puts off from the pics it will allow you to capture.

No, the lens came in the factory packaging including the soft bag, hood etc. This was laying in the bottom of the shipping box under the peanuts.

Canoga says its a freebie that Canon gives them to give to us. Nice.

Oh! ... and I just found 2 micro fiber lens cloths in the peanuts as well! Sweet!

I think it depends on which products you buy as to what you get. Anytime you order a lens from Canoga you get the mocrofibre cloths and if its a large order you get more than one.

When I got my 30D and Sigma lens form them I got the microfibre and a Canon EOS mousepad.
