It's nicely symmetrical, isn't it? I like the idea of this shot. Personally, I would have liked a little more light on it, I think, it appears a bit 'flat' light wise - but I really like the concept.

What is the 'story' in this shot?

Is this one of those 'stately' gardens? What is the building? It looks locked off.

Ah, it's the gate house, yes? Is that the 'house' in behind it to the left?

LOL - sorry - too many questions - in a way, to me, that means I like it - I am looking and looking and seeing different things.

Thank you.

Thanks for your comments. Here's another version.

This is in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin. The building is not a gate house. I think its only purpose was to close off the vista. It is set in formal gardens to the north of the hospital which was built in 1680 as a home for old soldiers.

I like the first one, but the photo needs to be symmetrical, and the hedges on the left look longer. Looking at it again, cropping from the left ould help.

I like the first one the best of the two

I like the first one as well, but I was wondering what pp was done to it? I also agree with curiousgeorge, cropping some from the left would help.
