I am a novice and want to get the opinion of all of the greatly experienced folks on this site. I want to take some portraits of my kids as well as all of my friends kids and I am considering purchasing the AlienBees Ringflash (http://www.alienbees.com/abr800.html) for my lighting needs. I currently have a 430EX. Is a ringflash good for portrait work? Is there a better method to achieve better lighting? I do not have a place to set up umbrellas so I thought the ringflash might work? What do you think?
