thats right.... every one of you that responded to my low light post....

i got a 10D yesterday along with the 50mm f1.4 and the 28-85 f2.8.
now i think i just might throw up. :P

do any of you have any experience with the generic equivalent to the canon battery pack? the price offset is significant.... $50 vs. $10.

Yes,. get the generic batteries .. they are fine.

I am afraid to say that the expense is not over yet, though. Every time I come on here someone mentions something and I think "Oh.. I must buy one of those!"

This place should carry a (financial) health warning! :P

Now for a 50mm 1.8 IF they ever get back in stock again, and im convinced I need a 100-400 IS within the next year.


Seriously though, thanks for all the help from everyone, and maybe I'll even learn how to take a decent picture with it.

Why would you want to go and spend all that money on all that gear, then try and save a measly $40 on a battery? Read this thread on Rob Galbraith, paying particular note to the comment from Canon's Technical Information Director about warranties and non-Canon batteries:
