Macro Lighting

Is the Canon MR-14EX Ring Lite or similar flash unit necessary or is there a way to get a 580ex to work? My first job once I get the 100mm macro will be a ring shot... I dont plan on doing insects just yet.

Yes, you can. Check out the macro forum for more experienced opinions. Basically, you'll need a contorting flash bracket, a diffuser and an E-TTL off-camera cord. Personally, I like my Sigma macro flash.

Okay thanks I will do that. I just wasnt quite sure where to look.

Pretty new to macro... And lighting like that in general.
