Well BytePhoto decided to upgrade their system. No notice to users until after they started. Down for second day. I get msg that I am not a member, some of my pic's can be seen others not. I am still in the free gallery and was thinking about upgrading to a premimun galleryfor a fee but now I am having second thoughts! It seems that they would notify users of what to exspect when making changes. If I have to resize and upload pic's again it will be elsewhere.. OK now I got it off my chest. But I still don't know what to exspect from them...What would be a good choice for a replacement for BytePhoto??

You might consider www.fotopic.net ... Never had any problems with them.

Jerry, the premium galleries were unaffected. I have one, and the only thing that changed was header at the top of the page stating that the main bytephoto site was being upgraded. I can still access everything, and make administrative changes. It's the "Some Stuff" link in my sig.

Byte is back up,, down 2 days,,everything is back to normal,, didn't have to size and upload pic's again.. Got 10K to go on the free gallery than I will look at the premium. That gallery stayed up. I guess If I was going to mess up someone it would be the non paying as opposed to the paying     I still would have let them know something was going to happen!

Sorry for the lack of notice on this site move … here is what happened
The move to our new ‘dedicated’ server was scheduled for early next week ……Unexpectedly the hosting company we leased ‘shared’ server space from suspended our account... BytePhoto was taking too much of the system resources … and this forced the move to happen earlier then anticipated and did not allow for us to give notice … the bright side is the move went well and the new server is tons faster and will allow for far more users online without getting the ‘server busy’ message that had be appearing with alarming regularity over the past few weeks …
The reason the premium gallery remained online is that it had already been moved to the new server …
It is possible but not likely that their may be some connectivity issues in the short term as some underlying DNS issues are resolved
Thank You

Aha! That's probably why I can't view JZaun's photos. I'll try restarting my DNS server to flush the cache and try again. Moving DNS is such a pain...
