I used my extended warranty from Best Buy recently on my S30. The reason I sent it in was because the sliding lens cover was acting up, seemed about to pop off when I slid it...

I got the camera back today, and it seems like a brand new camera. The door is as tight as it was new, and no longer has the dent in it that it used to have. The dirt on the body is gone, and the wear on the shutter button is too - they seem new. To top it off, the dent on the upper right corner of the body is gone as well.

Do you think this is actually my camera, and they replaced the lens door, shutter button, and body? Or did they just give me a new or refurb unit that originally belonged to someone else?

Does it really matter ?!
Sounds like you've ended up with a camera in a much better state than it was before, so why worry ?

What did the paperwork say?

Has the serial number changed?

If so you should have some reason why. There should be some note as to why.

Could be:
Replaced bottom cover, new serial number XXXXXXX...., or
Replace body, new serial number XXXXXXXX.

If nothing is noted, check the current serial number against the paperwork. If it's still the same, you've just got new parts. If its changed, you need paperwork to explain the change otherwise your camera is not covered under the warranty anymore since the serial number won't match if you ever have to send it in again!
