After a mind numbingly looooong day yesterday, I contacted Best Buy for a 300D.

Their "phone" customer service just totally sucks. I cannot understand how a company can have such horrible CS on the phones. I can imagine that their Internet Service wouldn't fare much better.

I was told that the store near me had "some"....but they couldn't guarantee that they would be there when I got there! ????? I am thinking the old car dealer trick of "we just sold the last one 10 minutes ago" when I get there.

In the store, which wasn't very busy, the salesman was GREAT! Knowledgeable and definately not pushy. I bought the 300D, extra battery, bag, circular polarizing lens, 256m card, and card reader. I got this at 24 months no interest.

Now, to figure this thing out!

I haven't loaded up the software yet, but the initial photos that I took....I am very pleased with the photo quality.

Thanks for all of your help!

Congrats!

Sounds like it was a bit of a pain in the butt over the phone, but that the end result was worth it.

Cool - glad to see you're in the digital age. 8)

Do you have a Reward Zone card? That will get you about $50 in Best Buy Bucks with what you bought.

Check in from time to time. PM me if you want - I am local.

Have Fun

Funny you should mention that. In the last month, I've bought two refrigerators and a high-end microwave. Actually, I've spent about $3K. I'll use the money for CF cards since that's just about the only thing they sell that I can use (besides appliances). :)

To start you may want to check out this site:

http://www.photoworkshop.com/canon/index.html

It is a tutorial site set up by Canon for the Digital Rebel/300D. It currently has 17 lessons and more will be added. Enjoy and good luck.
