VIDEO CLIPS ..cannot transfer to computer !

I have a Powershot S50. We just returned from a trip & I've downloaded
my photos without any probpem.
BUT .:cry:. .. the video/movie clips are a different story!
I connect the cable from camera to computer, have the camera in movie
playback mode, & open Windows Movie Maker...
press 'capture video' & get message that 'no capture device can be detected'.
I have downloaded video before, but it was over a yr. ago, & I cannot recall how.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated!!
BTW, The manual is of no help at all.

Do yourself a favor and spend $10 on a card reader you won't regret it.
With a card reader it would be recognized as another removable drive and you can handle the files like you would if it was a harddrive.

Remote Capture might let you transfer movie clips from the CF card to the desktop, but I'd venture to say that whatever you used to download your photos also downloaded any movie files that were on your flash card. Look for .avi files in the same folder your photos are in. Just double click an avi file and windows media player should play them.

As the above post mentioned life is much simpler with a card reader. You simply copy and paste images from the cf card to a folder on your hd. No cables, external programs or messy menus to worry about.

Just connect the camera turning it on to your computer. Browse through "My Computer" icon. Double click the camera icon. Then copy your movie file and paste on desktop.
