Background: I live in Irvine, CA, where there is a Canon location pretty much right down the street (http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=4WZ&pwst=1&q=canon&near=Irvine,+CA&radius=0.0&latlng=33669444,-117822222,9657800742748431715&sa=X&oi=local&ct=result)

Anyway, I have a Rebel XT that now has a couple bits of dust, at first I tried ignoring it, but now its starting to get really annoying. I was wondering if that location would be able to clean out my camera? Or where would you guys suggest i get my camera cleaned?

The specks are on the viewfinder prism, and I have tried getting them out but they simply wont budge (nasty case, right? :()

Please LMK! Thanks!

Go to the canon website, and give them a call tomorrow morning. I do not think they would have a walk-in/walk-out counter to get your camera clean, but they should be able to somewhat accomodate you to have it ready within a couple of days. Price? Could be steep, so it might be better to keep the name of the person you talk to on the phone (I would not do much talking personally, as the person greeting you in Irvine is not the one remotely associated with any technical aspect of your camera).

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Both Canon Irvine and Canon Freehold have walk in service. Drop your camera off and they will clean your sensor in about an hour, for free....as far as some dust in the viewfinder...that is a horse of a different color...not much you can do about the odd flake in there...and it won't hurt a thing...unless you have a boulder in there...just ignore it...has no bearing on your photos.
