I am thinking about buying the Metz 54.... What do I need to make this flash work with the 10D on camera? Are there any manditory accessories? I hear there's a "new module" out but have no clue what it is and what the model number for it is. Thanks, Dan.

Visit the Metz web site for more information at http://www.metz.de and select the English button unless you're fluent in German. According to their web site you need the SCA 3102 M2 module. I have the same adapter to connect my G3 to my Metz 60CT-4. If you order one make sure you get the SCA 3102 M2 and not the SCA 3102. Hope that helps.

The Metz 54mz-3 works with Canon E-TTL, and the 54mz-4 is for use with Nikon D-TTL. Otherwise they are the same. I have two of them and perfer them to my 550ex. I usually shoot them in AUTO mode with my 1Ds in manual. I find E-TTL to be too inconsistant in large halls with poor lighting. Hopefully the new E-TTL II system will be better. You will not be sorry with a Metz strobe.
