May not be to everyone's liking, but what inspired me to take this shot was all the spray and mist in the air. It was so windy, and the waves so rough, it created clouds of mist in the air so thick you can barely see through it.

Thanks for looking
C&C always

Gorgeous picture, you could just picture some pirates come round the headland, it has that sort of atmosphere.

Wow Frank I think this is my favorite image of yours yet. Great soft colors, the whole frame has a nice softness about it due to the mist. Lots of good foreground and I like how the light is hitting the lefthand side.

Thanks so much for your kind words Brad. Funny think is, what seems to be a not so good shot, turns out to be better then you expected.

Frank, you're a braver man than I am. I'd never have the guts to set up my tripod next to a sleeping bear! Really, what the heck is that in the foreground? It looks like fur.

I'm at a loss for words as why I like this image. I just do... There is just something about the mood of it...the lighting, the mist...excellent!

The lack of detail was one of the things I was concerned about while taking the shot.

It's a beautiful image that conveys much of the scenery. Would have been interesting to compare it with another shot of the same but with a bit faster speed so the bottom grass part isn't affected as much by the slow exposure.

Thanks SYS for your kind words.

I assume a faster speed would give me a better detail in the grass?

Without having been there it's difficult to know, but the question is how fast can you shoot without sacrificing the dreamy water scene....

It's a good question SYS.

Since there was a considerable amount of mist in the air, my gold was to soften the ocean enough to help it blend in with the mist.

I was able to keep the dreamy look and FG detail with a SS of 1/3. I did shoot over and under this speed but this look came the closest to my pre-visioned image.

Anything above 1/8 and the softness starts to deteriorate.
