I would love to see the image quality from the SD800IS . If you have pix from this camera, can you post a few samples here.

Noise Ninja applied to both in CS2 and the second one was converted to B&W in CS2.

My new Canon SD800IS arrived a few hours ago. Here is one shots with "out of the box" default settings.
The top picture is the 800IS shot, max wide-angle, f/2.8.
The bottom picture is a comparison shot with a Canon 300D DSLR and 17-85mm IS lens at maximum wide-angle, f/4.
Viewed full-size, the 800IS shot appears sharper, but perhaps a bit overexposed - which can be fixed easily in or out of the camera. Note, however, that the 17-85mm lens is not renowned for its sharpness.
Personally, I prefer the colors in the DSLR shot - they look more like the real thing. I tried some postprocessing on the first shot, but could not get a match. I need to start with a better exposure and try again.

did the flash fire on the 800IS? it looks more washed out.

Took this today with digital macro, cropped it a little also.
