I really want to like Lightroom but the interface is just horrible (in my opinion). Looks like Aperture is going to win out for me. The interface is slick and more pleasing to the eye. I also think it is easier to use. Conversion quality between the two is pretty much the same. I will take my free version of Lightroom I am entitled to and see how it matures over time.

I don't think it's quite fair to compare a full production product to a beta product? Especially since the UI is usually one of the last things improved in the software development process

I agree. There is also the issue of those that are only pc users and don't have the aperture option available to them without switching hardware.

I think that Lightroom is going to be a good product. I like the speed it has already and it is only going to get faster in the final production release.

User interfaces are something that one has to either get used to or move on to something else. They are not going to be able to please all people all the time.

I expect more from Adobe....beta or not.

I like Lightroom, it's just really slow on my computer....compared to RawShooter Essentials. But that compared to Lightroom doesn't have as many options. Can't wait until it's completely done.

I also want to add that i have only used Lightroom on my old (3+ years) windows based pc and it is really sluggish. I am going to reserve final judgement until v.1 is out. Like I said in my OP, I really want LR to work for me mainly for the seamless integration with CS2 (and CS3 when it is released).

ok, i am going to choke on my words a bit here. i just tried LR on my mac and it is much better. the sluggishness I was experiencing with my old pc is gone.
