Hello, all.

I am a new G1 user having just bought a new unit for a song (OK, a long song but a deal nonetheless) from Vistek in Toronto.

I have noticed that the LCD displays rather noisy images (horizontal banding) while composing an image, however the display is perfectly clear during the 2 sec review and in playback mode.

Has anyone else noticed anything similar in thier G1?

If the light is low (long exposure) the LCD will dramatically increase its gain while it is giving the real time view for composing purposes. This will cause the flickering, banding and an occasional snapping sound some hear. The captured image looks clear upon playback because the camera has integrated the long exposure into a single image, not a series of real time images.

Thanks, Mike....

That makes a lot of sense.
