My daughter's friend was gang raped at age 13. The cops are not doing much. I am going to take pictures of the bastards but I need a lens for night time. I borrowed my Dad's SD9, 70-200 with a 2X EX. The house that it happened at is not well light and I am going to take pictures of each person coming and going over the next few weeks and have my daughter and her friend point out the bad guys and "hand" the case to the cops.
Thank you in advance.

Rapists are sick b*****ds & need to be hung by their toenails!
I'm no expert in long lenses, try posting this in the EOS Digital Cameras Forum, I'm sure they'll be able to help out. :)
ps. whatever you do, dont call your thread "Which lens should I buy?" (that question gets asked nearly every day)

Are we sure that the poster is Dean and that's *his* phone number? Freebie Hotmail account, 1st post, and all?

I suggest you let the cops use the lens and you keep out of trouble.

And the simple answer to the question is: You can use any long lens you like, as long as it is a Sigma lens with a Sigma SD9 mount.
I.e. is totally off topic.

I borrowed a neighbors night vision scope but not I am trying to find a way of mounting it and be able to use the big lens so I do not have to get too close to these bastards. The cops have not done S!@!@. This is the only way I can keep the father from killing everyone.

First of all, this entire thing is totally off topic. It's not about sharing photos and the camera isn't even a digital Canon camera.
Secondly, it's not your job to "bring anyone to justice".
Thirdly, what exactly is your plan with the photos? If the police isn't doing much now, why do you think they'll do more once they get your photos?

I agree with most let the police take of it. Contact the DA's office. Wish you well and speedy recovery for the young girl. I pray justice prevails in this case.

Give the guy the benefit of a doubt; at least the phone is registered to someone named Dean.

And so what if he uses a freebie email account like hotmail?
Jeez, this is a cynical bunch.
This thread is sickening on many levels.

You would best be advised to leave it up to the cops and the Prosecutor to bring these guys to justice. If they aren't pursuing the case now it is for a reason. I can't believe they would just blow off the rape of a 13 year old girl.
What is going to happen when you are parked near this house and snapping pics of people coming and going and one of them comes by and sees what you are doing? Not a good situation if your dealing with thugs that would rape a 13 year old.
Visit the Prosecutor and ask why no charges have been filed. Was she seen by medical personel shortly after the attack? Is there any evidence from the scene? Witnesses who would be willing to talk to the investigators?
You trying to play "Magnum P.I." is only going to get you in trouble.

Jeez, this is a cynical bunch.
It pays to be cynical and untrustworthy on the internet. Sad to say. And Hotmail accounts are a great way to hide - many people use them for this, so the average goes up.
But I stand corrected, humbled, and now I feel sickened at this event.
