A while ago I posted a picture of my desk because I was bored. Tonight, I was waiting for my PC to boot and noticed how the blue light from my speaker system cast a glow over the surrounding area. I grabbed the camera and put on the M42 adapter and slipped on the £20 Pentacon 1.8/50mm. What do you think?

well, it's different.
It's pretty dark, but i guess that's the point.
It draws your eyes to the one white spot on the pic... is that what you were attempting?

I don't know what I wanted really, it was one of those "spur of the moment" things. If I thought about it too much the shot probably would have been brighter with better composition but thats not what I was doing. Probably goes against everything I've learnt over the past 6 months.

I agree... i find myself in that same situation often. I usually just take the picture, and if it looks good to me, i'll keep it, and if it doesn't, i take some time and see what i could have done to make it a better shot... and i haven't really lost anything.
Often times, it's something as simple as my iso being set too low, or my shutter speed too fast, and i learn from these shots... that's the beauty of digital!

I'm the same. I just wish I could figure out how to shoot the moon.
When you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark there isn't much to shoot except at weekends. I can't wait for spring.
