View Full Version : Katydid at night

This photo was taken using the Powershot G2 on macro setting, with 11x digital zoom. As the shot was taken around 10pm, the only lighting from this shot came from the G2 flash. Any comments would be most appreciated!!

From my limited experience, any closeup shots with the camera's built in flash are bound to result in harsh lighting, especially a night shot. Live and learn!

DARK AND STORMY NIGHT
Well ... I beleive that it is generally true that portraits, etc look great under overcast conditions. And that may be the case here.
But I much prefer your "emerging photo" and its added color and shadowed background.
But your bug shots made my mind wander to Wade Davis's book "One River". It made me think how lucky we are -- and how a digital camera might have changed early collections and archives of Amazon bugs and plants.
