I currently have Elements 4.0 but would like to upgrade to cs2. My local Fry's has the cs2 upgrade for a decent price(under $200). Would I be able to upgrade that? BTW...I did do a search, but everything I read was about using a student discount, or the offer that Adobe was doing for $299, if you used the elements software that came with the canon camera. Thanks.

That CS2 upgrade is from previous versions of Photoshop (full versions, not Elements) most likely. You will need to purchase the upgrade from Elements, not Photoshop so you are probably looking at around $300. I would wait to see what CS3 requires for upgrades. Then make your decision.

An upgrade from Elements to CS2 is currently running $499. If you can find one of the special deals where you upgrade a version of Elements you got from Canon, you can probably get it for around $299 (that's what I did over a year ago). Others have suggested trying to find a legitimate copy of Photoshop on eBay, etc. to purchase and then upgrading to the CS2 for $169. That's probably your best bet if you want CS2. I would expect that the CS3 prices will follow the same path once it's released.
