I think rugby photos look better if tighter cropped, some from the game I was at today.

I agree they need to be cropped tighter, however I noticed this images are 100% crops already so there is little room to further crop.

What lens are you using? If is too short just wait for the action to come to you and then try and isolate the player holding the ball, ideally with another player. I feel action images always looks best with 2 or 3 players.

I really like 5, it's just a shame there is no ball and part of his arms are chopped. Well done for trying something a bit different though.

As others have said wait for the action to come to you just be patient last year i was shooting for the Sheffield Eagles at Don Valley and the lighting is rubbish
had to use my 200mmF2.8 here's one were i had to wait (300F2.8 coming Tuesday:) )
