Excuses first, all the images were from the goaline which was a first for me. I really struggled as I've not shot footie for almost 2 months and with only 1 body I was way to close to the action sometimes.

Now, a few images from me from my local Non-league side. All shot on a 1D with 300mm F4 on various settings. EXIF data is intact.

#1 - Standard action, nothing exciting going on here

#2 - Cut the head off, but ouch!!

#3 - Standard action again

#4 - Goalie saved without many problems

#5 - Desperate to avoid the game running into Extra Time

#6 - Perfected slide tackle.

Good stuff Darren - looks like Westfield if I'm not mistaken. The last one shows it must have been tough at the end - down to 1/320 at 3200 on the 1D.

Darren,

Nice work there - #4 is the pick of the bunch for me. Light must have faded off dramatically, what with going from ISO200 through to ISO3200!

Was having a little bit of a play around with ISO3200 towards the end of today's match and had some okish results, although found that overexposing by 1/3 stop dramatically improved things.

Good work though - and looked kinda muddy from your pics in the other thread!!!

Thanks Chris, you are correct Lancing FC (my local side) vs Westfield in the Sussex County Division Two Challenge Cup. The amount of cup ties in non league football is a joke. F.A. Cup, F.A. Vase, R.U.R. Cup, John O'Hara League Challenge Cup, Division Two Challenge Cup, S.C.F.A. Senior Cup, Brighton Charity Cup to name just a few.

Thanks Paul, the light was all over the shop but it stayed bright until gone 5pm so I was able to shoot the whole game with my F4. Normally I give up at half time as the readings are laughable in winter. I must admit I do like shooting from the goal line but I don't really think it's possible without a shorter lens on a 2nd body. There were times when a 70-200 or even a 24-70 would have been great.

It was muddy and the goalmouths were in a hell of a state, sand at the ready. But not as bad as the Birmingham pitch from what I've heard. I've not seen MOTD yet so I'll try and catch it tonight.

Excellent pics... I did Skelmersdale v Clitheroe non league on sat... Absoloutly perfect pitch.. I am starting to hate this 10d... keeper rate is very poor :(

Thanks KIPAX. Pic looks great to me.

I went from a 10D to a 1D and my keeper rate (purley based on OOF shots) increases from about 40% to about 85/90%.
