I would run them through a noise reduction program. I ran these with the free standalone noiseware program from Imagenomic. (just opened the program and clicked FILTER > Process. That simple. They were not touched in any other way in pshop.

Some decent shots, but the noise~

Fellow UM'er, but about the Daily - contacted them beginning of academic year (Sep 06), interested in shooting for the Daily. Was rather disappointed when I got a response saying they were only looking for underclassmen...no explanation provided either. Any ideas? Haven't perceived the Daily in a good light since.

i personally wouldn't worry about the noise, too many people seem to like over softened and fake looking photos like the fix posted above (no offense to the poster, but that shot looks worse than the original, especially the second shot in the OOF areas). what worries me is the softness in the images. at this resolution, even a slightly OOF shot should look quite sharp. i'm sure that the problem is in the resizing, but if it isn't in the resizing, you need to fix it.

Welcome to Wisconsin basketball...boring but effective.

Have to say yea alittle too much noise but still nice shots. But thats where the give and take comes in. I was having problems with my 1D MK I getting good composed clear shots but the noise was killing the "snap" factor of them.

Wanna buy a 1D? :)

I was going to ask if they were taken at 1600 or 3200, because they looked pixely, after the noise reduction they look 100% better. I am downloading that program right now. Thanks
