Ok, I converted my Raw Images, Sharpened them, Cropped them and saved them as TIFF's and coppied them to a CD.

I want to get some 4X6 done for my wifes family, can the CD of TIF files be taken to one of those machines at the photo processing places or do I need to convert them to JPEG. If I need to convert them to JPEG do I "Save them for web" ? Not sure if that is the propper way to convert to JPEG.

I understand these prints will not be professional, and I will send my enlargements off but I am thinking for regular prints this should be ok.

I'm almost positive that those self-service kiosks and generic photo processing places (CVS, WalMart, Ritz, etc) will want JPG with sRGB. Those places can be done properly (with proper color space) but it can be tough finding someone who understands all the buttons and commands that need to be done to process an image with a correct color space.

You don't necessarily have to "save for web" - I would save as JPG, absolute maximum quality/lowest compression, and make sure that sRGB color space is set for that image.

When I Recall the saved Tif files, and use the "Save As" command, JPEG is not an option, The only way I have been able to save the file as a JPEG is to use the "Save for web" command. Unless I am missing something, which could be the case I am very new to PS CS

Maybe you're in 16-bit mode? Mode -> 8-bit, then you should see JPG as an option. But Save For Web is fine.

Whether 8-bit or 16-bit, you also want to Mode... Convert to Profile... sRGB. Then Save for Web and make sure that the "ICC Profile" check box is selected. (Or Save As JPG)

You are exactly right, I remember changing it to 16bit, thanks for the help. I may have went several nights trying to figure that out.

 I've been running PS for 12 years and I *still* do that now and again.
