Some good shots in there Jim - your work is improving rapidly from your original post! #1 and #2 work best for me.

I would suggest trying to shoot from a lower camera angle though, you will find that sitting or kneeling will give the pics more impact.

Good work though.

Gary. Still takes a bit of getting used to holding down the back button, some times I tend to let it go when I think I have the shot, must be disciplined about it. Did you perchase from Kerso?

Jim,

JPEG Fine for me, although if time allows then I sometimes venture into RAW.

As for white balance, I have to confess, I shoot in autowhite balance. Indoors, I will use a CWB. The reasoning behind auto when outdoors is that I find that over the course of the afternoon the colour temperature will shift, so unless you are constantly updating your CWB then you are possibly creating more problems than you are solving.

AWB tends to deal with the white balance very well, the only time that I might override it is when its quite overcast and will then pop it into cloudy so save the slightly blue cast that AWB sometimes "adds" to the images.

As Gary says, RAW is good in that it allows you to sort white balance after the event - but it does add extra time to the work flow to convert them to JPEG.
