View Full Version : Bird taking off - layering of 5 images....

Hi All, I recently bought myself photoshop elements 5 and I've been having a bit of a play tonight.

When I was out the other day I took a series of 5 shots of a little bird taking off and I thought I would layer the bird into one photo to get a bit of an action shot.

This is my first attempt at layering and doing anything like this, so I'm reasonably happy with my first efforts.

The shots were taken with my 100mm macro lens, shutter was 1/6400 with f/2.8

What a beautiful, calming image. I love the light through the bird's wings - lovely!

This is an outstanding first effort Kinnon. I'm looking forward to your second already. :D

Thanks Athena. I can't to do more either. I had a quick search through my archives last night but couldn't really find any images I could work with so it will give me a good excuse to go out and take more photos!

Thanks Ricko. I don't really know what I'm doing, I just make it up as I go along :rolleyes: I had never worked with layers before or had done anything like what I did so it was a huge learning curve but I made good use out of the help function!

Very nice! Were you shooting in continuous mode? If so, too bad you didn't have 8.5 fps ;) !

Sebastien, thanks, I was shooting in continuous mode. Wish I had the 8.5fps because when I was shooting my shutter must have been in sync with the bird's fight because every shot I got was on the downbeat of the bird's wings, wish I could have got some ones with his wings up.
