During the (just gone) holiday season I tried out a little bit with my new lights. What I like most at this capture is the color combination of the black background and the warm brown of the cognac. C+C are very much welcomed!

I like it. I'm no expert, but I think the two lights coming from about 45 degrees on either side might have benefitted from a bit more frontal light as well, just to light the very front a bit more. Next time maybe you can try a little fill from an onboard flash as well. And you're right, the combi of the warm brown and black background looks real nice.

I find the composition a little sparse, and im not feeling the crop. Everything else about the image i do really like, colour/tone etc. Im nitpicking really.

Nice one!

like the picture, glass ware isn't the easyest to do. The only thing other tyhen the crop that I would change would be your light to the right. What type of light is it? Looks like a ring light. The light kinda kills theshape of the glass

OK...my 2 cents worth...1/2 inch crop off of each side and add the 1/2 inch to the top and bottom...perfect shot. Of cource thats just IMO

Thank you all for your feedback so far! Regarding the lights: I used two lights in total. On the left side there was a white umbrella in ca. 1 m distance from almost 45 degrees. On the right side I used a dish light, which is normally used for portraits. You can clearly see the center of it where the light is bounced on. I have to affirm your thoughts that the shape of the glass is detracted by this.

Best, J.
