Is there a way to set the picture counter to start at a set number, like 10000? I took about 9850 pics with my old G3, and when I got my S3 and started adding pics to my folders, it will keep asking me to change the names of the files so they won't overwrite eachother if they are the same, since it looks like the S3 and G3 label the pic files the same way. Any suggestions?
Thanks

You can't get the file names to be like IMG_10034.JPG; the DCIM spec doesn't support file names of more than 8.3 format. I don't recall if Zoom Browser, when you download direct from the camera, still renames them as 100_0034.JPG; if it does, you can just change the folder to folder #200 and it'll become 200_0034.JPG on the computer. Another approach is to use a command-line rename to change them. Something like C>REN IMG_????.JPG 200_????.JPG, which will rename all JPEG files called IMG_(anything) to 200_(same anything) My approach is to download using Breeze Systems' Downloader or Downloader Pro and let that rename the files based on the folder number, file name and camera model (which is included in the EXIF data), so I have file names like 0034_A620.JPG.
