2007 Chelsea International Fine Art Competition

Agora Gallery of New York City is pleased to announce its 22nd juried competition. Awards include: exhibition at the Chelsea gallery, cash awards, Internet promotion and review in ARTisSpectrum magazine. The exhibition will take place in Chelsea, New York City. The gallery/artist split will be 30/70 and, as part of our continued support to social awareness, Agora Gallery will be donating its share from all artwork sales to an international children aid foundation.

Looks like a great deal for Agora. If they only got 2000 on-line applicants they will net $70,000 and are only paying out $1000, and It looks like UNICEF only gets 30% of the proceeds from the sales none of the admittance money.

I wish that this did not look like a way to line-pockets in the guise of charity, :confused: otherwise I would seriously consider entering.

Just my $0.02 I guess ....;)

$1000…. Well we rent a huge space in Chelsea New York City, we have employees, we print catalogs, invitation cards, organize receptions, and more and more and more and yes UNICEF gets ALL the proceeds that are the gallery share from sales - usually it comes to a very nice amount which can help many kids around the world.:)
