Camera Question... [Archive] - Canon Digital Photography Forums

I am going to see Sara Evans in February. And I have a Canon Powershot A520. I will be three rows back. I was messing around with some settings last night and when I zoom in all the way (14x) the pictures get all grainy. Does anyone know how I can get rid of the grain and what kind of settings work for the camera during concerts? Thanks!

14x sounds like you are using Digital Zoom. Turn off your digital zoom or don't go past what the camera can do on optical zoom. Digital Zoom will definitely make your pictures grainy.

Thanks!...I will try just the optical zoom later, see how the pictures come out.
