Its a crop. I have tossed the original (Doh!) But I liked how I salvaged what I considered a useless photo. Above the crop the branches made a tangled mess. I fooled around and got this out of it.
Comments welcome.

I really like it. So many different shapes - the horizontals of the trees, the diagonal shadows, and the circular mounds in the snow. Together they make a very interesting picture.

I like that a lot... How can anyone suggest changing it? Oh, OK then, I think I would lose a bit of the right hand side and it seems a tad gloomy. Anyway, there's another I wish I had taken. It has mood, interest, and drew me in.
Thanks for posting

Excellent. Photography is all about light, right? You captured wonderful lighting, and shadows in this picture... and both of those are what make up good photos in my opinion. Unique lighting adds drama to any photo, and it definitely has here. Nice shot.
Looks like it could be rotated about .5-.75 degrees clockwise though.

This is an awesome shot - way to salvage what you thought was useless. The lighting is great, the angles interesting and I agree the snow adds a nice touch to it. Well done.

This image works for me also, it reminds me of a closeup of someones scalp with hairs growing out of folicals. Nice job.

I like this photo. :D
My eye is drawn to the shadows of the trunks and path made by the foot prints through the trees. The tree trunks seem to give some verticle height to the narrower crop of this photo.

I LIKE THIS PICTURE. HOW IS THIS FOR A SUGGESTION: PROCESS IT A BIT IN A SPOOKY X FILES KINDA WAY (CURVES MAYBE) TO GIVE THE SUGGESTION THAT IF THE CAMERAMAN(WOMAN) KEEPS ON WALKING, THEY ARE GOING TO RUN INTO SOMETHING. BASICALLY, SUBTLE DARK CHANGES, WITHOUT LOSING THE CONTRAST.

SPROCKET, PLEASE LET GO OF THE SHIFT KEY OR PRESS Caps Lock to make sure that you're not typing in captals all the time. It looks like you are SHOUTING, and, I'm sorry but it looks stupid.
Shakey, nice tree photo!
