Is there such a thing as a small bag that will hold a 70-200 f/4 IS while mounted on the camera with the hood on?

And (for extra credit ;)) will any small bags hold this lens mounted with a hood AND a Kenko 1.4x teleconverter?

I'm not talking about a huge bag that holds tons of stuff... obviously there are plenty of those. I'm just talking about something small-ish that I can throw the camera into while walking around, rather than hanging the camera from a neck-strap.

With the hood on and deployed, or with the hood on reversed? If the former, it won't be small, since the lens alone is 7" long and the hood will add another couple, as will the body, so you're looking at over a foot of gear. Just pick up a messenger bag if you don't want it out.

With the hood reversed, the Lowepro Toploader 75 will do the trick.

Yeah, that's a good point. Hmmmm.....

OK, how about a suggestion for a small bag that will hold a 70-200 f/4 IS while mounted on the camera with the hood REVERSED, but with a Kenko 1.4x teleconverter on the camera?

Take a look at a Domke F-3X; you'll probably need to have the camera at an angle for almost any bag that could take that, though. And remember, the TC's not quite as long as the hood, but you're still looking at about 11 or so inches total length.

Will do, thanks!

True. Well, maybe I'll just look for something to fit the 70-200 f/4 IS mounted on the camera -- period. ;)

I don't have a TC.
My Tamrac Pro5 (Model 5605) holds my 350D (Rebel XT) and 70-200 F4 L (non IS) with ease (hood reversed) also there is room for another two long lenses as well. It is very deep inside (10.25 " (250mm) and may hold the lens with a TC. It's a good "city" bag (stylish).

Another alternative is a Lowepro Specialist 85 specially for more casual photo locations.

Will hold the 700-200 Mounted but wouldn't with a TC on it.

Hmmm, this one might just do the trick. Thanks!
