But I used a program called 'curator' to generate my gallery - and it surely looks similar to something I've seen before ;-)

I hope you like the result.

Comments welcome.

beautiful shots Jan.
I especially like those ones: 0051; 0833; 0857; 4041; 4469.
The bridge (2862) and the tower (3997) look very familiar to me.
Greetings from Lommel.

Very beautiful photos, Jan. I don't think the gallery looks at all like either Pekka's old (G1) or new (D30) galleries, so don't worry about copyright, or offensive imitation. In the early days, I actually copied Pekka's layout very close, but asked his permission--of course, the genleman that he is was not at all concerned.

I would personally ditch the picture frames, however. Your images loaded very slowly, and I have a fast connection. I can only imagine it's the picture frames, or some really messy code.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful images!

cheers,

Pekka

I agree with Philip, keep coding, don't worry! Try EE if you have time and you'll get the 'famous EE look' in no time :)

You have many VERY nice photographs there! Really excellent work - keep posting.

Thanks suske, and yes the bridge and tower are important landmarks in our area ;-)

I'm glad you took the time to have a look at the pictures.

Hi gandini,
Well yes, It's not really a copy ... but there's indeed some resemblance. But I like the curator engine (especially because it works for linux and generates static web-pages - I can't use php scripts at my webspace).

You're the first one that has commented about the slowness of the loading. Strange... I kept all images (well most) below 200Kb and the frames actually don't add that much to the size (at most 10Kb-20Kb).

But thanks a lot for having a look at the gallery and for the kind words.

Hi Pekka,

Yes I had a look at the EE code and liked it a lot... on my server at home I easily run it (as php and mysql are installed here). My provider, however, wouldn't like it if I would setup a server here )
So, only static webpages for me :( ... Well, this curator script works fine, and I really enjoyed writing the texts for the images as well (but I'm afraid a lot of my texts would sound better if I wrote in Dutch or used a dictionary 8) )

Uh, btw thanks for the comments about the images Pekka :) :) :)
