memory card reader or transfer directly from 5d

I was wondering if there is any benefit from transfering images directly from my 5d as opposed to buying a memory card reader? Do any of you use a card reader?....The reason i ask is because the 5d is very slow at transfering image files.....Thanks

In my opinion there is no benefit transferring from the camera wether it is a 5D or any other.

I always use a card reader. It is much faster.

Card reader every time. Much faster particularly when you're downloading a few cards at once.

Some are better than others. Sandisk readers are generally well regarded.

i never in a big enough hurry to use a card reader, i just go thru the camera.
