Hi

My first post. I believe there is a certain tradition, quack? 20D Sigma 17-70mm. Taken in raw then PP CS2. Got my new 70-200 2.8 IS last month but no duck photos taken with it yet.

Welcome to the forum Ali and nice photo! I'm curious as to where you live. I haven't seen a duck that looks like that around here (central US).

Live in Paris, but took this at new year when I was over visiting my wife's family in the north of england about 20 miles from Newcastle. They were big ducks but that is about the limit of my species knowledge.

Yes it is a muscovy duck, they normally only live in farms in Sweden but we ran into a fugitive one in a lake the other day.

Beware the nikony duck to the right ;) Her nickname actually is "Ankan" which means "the duck"...

Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. been reading the forums(s) from quite a while so felt the need to post a duck and make a contribution. I have a couple more shots from the duck series which I will try and add tonight. There was only 1 of the 3 ducks which had the "ugly" look the others were more classic in style.
