It's a great shot. Lots going on without it causing any distractions a sense of energy and fun. The only thing I would say, and this is really, really picky is that the model's pose is very errr... posy. Having said that, how you could get it any other way, I don't know. It certainly looks like you put a lot of work into it and got a good return for your effort. The model looks fun.... The exposure, colour, composure.... Well, I suspect you knew it anyway!
Great shot, thanks for posting

Agree with above. Too posed. So posed, it almost looks like a caricature of itself.

I think it's not a bad shot. But there are rooms for improvement. You capture the moment right. Maybe you can try a different angle. The composition seems flat and not really powerful. Posing the model is not a problem, but maybe you should try to pose her differently. This photo really haven't show the best side of her if you know what I mean.

Ahh... She's jumping... You guys sound like you're expecting her to freeze in mid air, so the photographer can repose her...

He could ask her to jump in a different way!

I think it looks posed because it is a pose!
The opposite of a posed shot would be a natural shot and how many people do you see jumping like that unless a photographer asks them?
That doesn't make it a bad shot, it is a very good shot of a very nice model asked to jump for the camera, it is not a naturally caught shot of someone who happened to be jumping but it was never meant to be.

Hmmmm Mark, that's pretty sharp! I feel a whole new thread coming on here. Anyway, you're right - it's a good shot and I hope that I conveyed that in my post. I wish I had half the skill to produce pictures like that and of course a string of beautiful models to spend hours on sunny beaches..... I'm rambling!
Anyhow, I think that what causes more conflict in this shot is that it is a very natural, spontaneous background. What could be more so that waves crashing on the beach. Maybe, in that context the model's post looks slightly incongruous.... These really are just ideas - I don't want to do the shot down.

By the way Jason - good luck getting all the sand and salt out of your 10D!

LOL funny you should say that (about getting the sand out of the 10D)...
I think its had more than its fair share of sand but it still goes well... :-)
The shot was definately meant to be posed, its not a candid shot by any means. The shot is supposed to show energy and life :-)
Thanks for your feedback :-)

but of course that's a Photoshop trick and nothing to do with the photograph which is spot on. Nice glamour!

Yeah someone else said that but I wanted to keep it all natural...
This girl has an awesome figure and no belly at all.. its just the way she is jumping..
Thanks for the compliment though :-)
