Some of you may recall I had a wedding to shoot for my best friends sister in which the lighting was similar to what I think a dungeon might be like. You can see the original post here

I thought I'd follow up with a few pictures from the day. Honestly, I don't think it's the best work I've ever done. I'm more of a nature photographer, and the lighting was challenging at best, but all in all I don't think they came out too bad. I ended up shooting with my 35, 50 and 85 between f/1.2-1.8 at ISO 1600 and underexposing to get decent shutter speeds then pushed them in post. Onto the pictures...

I still have a lot of images to go through, those are just some random shots. Someone remind me to flee the country next time someone I know gets married...

Ithink those images are very nice. I don't see much noise so I never would have guessed that you pushed the PP. Really really like the last one.

I'm pretty suprised at how well the images held up as far as noise goes, I haven't run any noise reduction but web sized images really hide noise. The last one is the flower girl who is just one of the cutest kids you could ever photograph, it's a shame she doesn't like having her picture taken but I got some decent candids of her and that one is my favorite.

I don't think you should worry about noise if you shoot with your 5D at 1600 ISO. :D

Looks like you did great on the exposures. But some might need to be cropped and straighten a bit, as the composition sometimes isn't perfect. So next time, don't worry about the exposure, trust your equipment and have fun and make some great images!

1. OOF foreground doesn't work for me, especially with nothing much in the background.
2. Not bad. Stand in the middle of the aisle (or even better, lie down), and vignette.
3. Straighten, B&W, vignette.
4. Crop, B&W. Not so fond of woman in backgrounds expression.
5. I like it. B&W & crop?

Overall not a lot of impact IMHO. Focus on the emotion.

1. This probably works better for me because I know the people who are in focus, mostly extended family members that aren't seen too often. I thought it would be nice to have a shot of them gathered at the church before the ceremony.

2. I was trying to stay low profile, getting in the middle of the aisle probably would have been fine. Not a chance I'd lay down in the middle of the ceremony, I think I'd be distracting at that point and I carry my gear with a belt system.

3. I actually have the same shot which is straighter, I could switch it out for the final prints. Maybe I will go for B&W on that one as I haven't done many conversions from that ceremony.

4. Probably will get cropped, just haven't decided which way to go with it yet. I found her expression rather amusing, once again I'm biased by knowing her.

5. Once again could be B&W, I'll play with it but I'm not sure how I'd crop it. I'm actually pretty pleased with the composition.

I know I don't have the impact of some of the other members here, weddings really aren't my thing. My focus was more to get the shots that the couple will want and to not fall on my face rather than to experiment with my artistic vision. I'd like to be able to play around more with what I shoot, but I don't think I'd do it without a second shooter to get the classic shots.

Nice for your first wedding...

The last shot is probably the one i'd pick if i had to choose

The way the groom is smiling in the fourth shot reminds me of "Radio" (the movie)
