Very nice to see the issue got resolved :)

Where did you go for those butterflies? Pacific Grove? I'm thinking of taking a drive to the coast since I have a couple of "sick" days coming up. :D

i spend at least a couple of weeks a year on the monterey penninsula and it is prettier than santa cruz and has quite a few less freaks :).

i got back from a weekend in monterey yesterday in fact, and i'm ready to go again :D !

Wow in Santa Cruz (california?) they have Butterfly trees!

Fun lens huh? I really liked mine. It has its quirks but when I upgraded to the L It was only a tiny bit better. Glad to see you got such a good copy! Now all you need to get is a macro lens for those butterfly trees ;)

Glad to see you finally got a good working copy! Sigma is really getting a bad rap, especially on that lens.. Personally it's my favorite..

If I saw that tree I think my heart would burst.. I have a butterfly phobia :(

I used to be one of those freaks - managed an engineering group in Scotts Valley and surfed in the afternoons until dark. That's cool... as long as the valley people just keep moving right on through and head on south to carmel and monterey... worked for me. And when they are done, they head right back over the hill where they belong. I'll take an afternoon at steamers over playing with the tourist any day.

Nope, unfortunately I was with the surfer crowd who preferred to get high naturally...what ever that meant. I am still working on that one.... all i know is we had a heck of a lot of fun. Though I did work with this one lady who lived in a tee-pee and only bathed once a week... that was interesting. She got into arguments with the only republican in town that happened to also be on my team. BMWs and VW buses in the parking lot... it was a fun crowd to hang out with. We don't have quit the diverse crowd out here in North Carolina as we did back then.
