Beach portraits

I have some family that wants me to take their Family portraits this summer on the beach and I'm not sure about what colors they should wear. They would like to wear white shirts and khaki pants, but I think you would run the risk of blowing out the whites. Can anybody reccomend better colors?

On the beach, with white sand, blue water, and white surf I think I'd recommend something in mid-tone cool colors - light blue or green. You could make the white and khaki work though, if you shoot in the early morning or early evening with the sun is low and the light is very warm.
