Does anyone know whether the Metz 45 CT-1 will work with a D30 through the PC terminal?
I can't justify the £££ for a 550EX and can get hold of a Metz for a good price.
I don't use flash very much and won't need all the creative functions that the 550EX has to offer.
I've read previous posts about the Sigma units but can't find any over here in the UK.

Any ideas?

Yes, it will. I use a Metz 60 CT-4 with mine. I have a 550EX that I quit using because of its metering quirks. The Metz is an auto thyristor flash (not E-TTL) and gives very accurate exposures.

You need to be sure of the PC voltage to be sure it's compatable, I know that the 60 CT-4 is, so I am fairly sure the 45 CT-1 will be. Check Metz's website for the specs. http://www.metz.de

Many thanks for your help. The Metz website contained a wealth of information, specific to the D30.
I think I'll go ahead and give one a try. For the price of a secondhand unit, I can't really go wrong.

Cheers!
