Just a puzzling thing I was thinking about...
Lets just say I had a 400D with a grip...
Okay, you can stick 6 1850mah rated AA batteries in a grip. (Or 6 1500mah Energizers as they seem to be the best rechargables out there)
Or, you can stick 2 Canon/Sterlingtex/Generic Li-On batteries in there.
Which will last longer? Arent the AA's going to last longer, as they're more powerful?

plug it and see... IIRC the normal canon batt, well that for my 20D is supposed to last 700-1000 shots. I have done a few weddings on roughly that scale, though times i got a bit nervous as it was down to one bar ;)
you would think that the AA's will be more powerful technically. I'd say save the batts as pure emergency and use normal cam batt first

Yeah, Li-On's probably do last longer.

The holder & AA batteries are meant as emergency back up.They will not last long compared with the Lion & it would be an inconvenience to have to keep changing them.

As Marshall said, the AA battery holder is meant for emergency use. The instructions even say that extended use of AA batteries is not recommended.

6 x Maha 2300s gave me 22 shots (with EX flash). Took them out, put them back in, and gave me another big 2! Definitely recommended for emergencies only.
