figured i would ask this here.. my wife and i got married last july.. and we still havent finalized the album or video pictures... i keep bugging her about it (but as we all know, that doesn't help). the photog got us his proof of the album back to us in late november, but with the holidays and whatnot we havnet had a chance to approve/add any comments.. and for our video we still haven't selected any of the songs or the pictures of us when younger to include in it. is this too long? he is rather easy going, and hasn't said anything to us about getting it together.. .. but i am always prompt and early on stuff, so it bugs me... so i be worried? is this somewhat normal for a couple to drag this on like we (she) are?

Not really. Most couples want to see their albums a little sooner than that.

It happens, I was involved in a wedding shoot back in October and the B&G have not picked their photos as of yet. As long as the photographer is paid and not waiting on his money you are fine I would say.

I have friends that took 2+ years to approve their images and didn't get the album till part way through year 3, and they didn't like it, so yeah its still a work in progress. Just take a night or weekend and go through it, call him if you want to go over it together.

This is also a good example as to why to do the album pre-design.
If you are not familiar I highly reccommend Gary Fong's getting rich dvd that explains it.

As photographers we should archive our weddings for a certain amount of time, this should have been in the contract you signed.
So its up to you on how long to wait....i did a wedding in 05, i still haven't been asked for REPRINTS yet, and since i am giving up weddings i am just going to send them the negs, i can't be bothered with it LOL

I think we got our wedding album in about 6 months. The video actually took a lot longer because we got busy as did our videographer. It happens. I figure the photographer/videographer would rather have something take longer than be rushed on it all.
