Hi!

I'm using EE1.5 RC2 and want to set the microthumb size to 60 pix. instead of default 43. I change this at "resize methods" to 60 pix, preview is working at 60 pix, also in path setup it shows, resize method: microthumb (imagemagick 60). but its not working, microthumbs are still all 43 pix at the longest edge.

any idea?

best regards
Peter

Changes to resize methods affect only photos uploaded after the changes. Use rethumbnailer if you want to change "old" thumbs to existing resize settings.

another question:

is ther a way to resize the big sizes, not the thumbs? Rethumbnail only affect thumbnails.
is there a way?

thanks

use the drop box in the rethumbnailer... you can resize thumbs, microthumbs, and unless i'm very mistaken, the large display photos, too... i'm away from my site at the moment and can't check...

No, no EE tool for re-resizing big images (yet). You may of course upload new ones with normal ftp, just keep the filenames same.

oops, my bad...

on this, i've tried to "reupload" new files with the same name and they're stored with a different name... they've come out with some sequence of letters appended to the front of them...

clarification: when you say to "reupload" new photos, are you saying

1. to put new copies in the UPLOAD folder and then perform the normal "upload" sequence to get them into the database

or

2. to select the ones in the UPLOAD folder that are already in the database

or

3. to remove them from the database and then do it all new again???

I did not say reupload, I said re-resize :)

When you have uploaded photos to database and you are (later) not happy with big size image size(s), there is really no need to delete them and upload (upload page: upload) them again. You can resize them in PS and using any ftp program replace the wrong files with new ones. Database does not really care if the photo in folder /big is 800x600 or 1024x700.

ahh! my bad (again)... i was thinking about how you can have the main, big, normal (whatever) pics resized during the upload function... i've used this so i can upload 1600x1200 pics and get the main large version set to 640x480 or smaller... at least, i think that is what was done... i'll have to go look again, now...

understood... i was doing all this with the new internal ftp and exif capabilities once i realized that the original photos from the camera had that exif data and my PSP evidently strips it out when i resize or otherwise modify the photos before putting them into the gallery exhibits...
